About Solaris Scholar
Synne Silva - Founder and CEO
Growing up in a bi-lingual home, I learned first-hand how languages are the primary connection between a person and the world's opportunities. Through my dream of becoming a teacher, I built an interest in smaller languages such as Norwegian and the importance of keeping them alive. After years of volunteering in teaching and translation; working for Berlitz; doing a BA in languages; and learning several languages, I decided to take the next step in teaching others by starting Solaris Scholar. My favourite part of teaching is to see the students' confidence build and the light bulb moments during classes.
What is our goal here at Solaris Scholar?
Solaris Scholar is focused on building the confidence in Norwegian learners in both the language and understanding the culture. It's a place where they can learn the language comfortably at their own pace in a controlled environment and receive guidance personalised for them. The 1-on-1 classes welcomes a safe environment for the students to learn whilst making mistakes (it's a natural part of learning) and eliminates any pressure felt by learning with a group.
Solaris has a unique curriculum designed to cover all the areas within language learning while having room for changes to the students' needs and questions. We have divided each language level into two parts to allow the students to build a stronger foundation in each level as they progress within the language.
